This is a two-day, one-night campout near the Jackson Visitor Center at Paradise on Mount Rainier. We snowshoe with backpacks about a quarter mile up the Dead Horse Creek Trail to the location we call our campsite. We dig snow caves into the snow slope and stay in them overnight. We will meet at the L at 8:00 on Saturday morning and return on Sunday in the mid afternoon.
The Snow Caves trip is a demanding outing that requires special skills. Outing participation is limited to Scouts who have previously participated on a Snow Caves trip, Scouts who have previously participated on a Blewett Pass trip, or by special approval by the Scoutmaster.
Please complete an Outing Participation Sheet and submit it along with your outing fee.
